Eximee Low Code Platform, powered by EximeeBPMS – How we leveraged our own fork of Camunda 7 CE

The Eximee Low Code Platform has officially switched from Camunda 7 CE to our proprietary solution, EximeeBPMS. This transition is another step toward technological independence and demonstrates the maturity of our process engine.

Context and purpose of the update: How the end of life for Camunda 7 CE impacted Eximee Low Code Platform

Camunda 7 CE is a well-established tool widely used by many organizations. Until now, we also relied on it within Eximee Low Code Platform, where it powered business process execution.

However, with the announced end of support for Camunda 7 CE in October 2025, we decided to develop our own solution: EximeeBPMS. The 1.0 version was released on April 15, 2025.

The next step was to implement this system in our other products. Recently, we successfully switched the Eximee Low Code Platform over to the EximeeBPMS engine. This new engine is fully compatible with the previous solution and ensures stable, long-term support.

Full compatibility with no need for migration

Thanks to our new solution’s full compatibility with Camunda 7 CE and the tools that facilitated the switch, the transition was smooth and complication-free.

Additionally, there was no need to migrate any data, as EximeeBPMS does not require it. The switch was carried out without impacting the platform’s operations, and our clients did not notice any changes.

Our fork of Camunda 7 CE – what exactly have we gained?

Switching to EximeeBPMS has brought us a variety of benefits, both for the system itself and for our entire organization.

• Stability and security – no risks related to the end of support for Camunda 7 CE.
• Greater influence over BPMS engine development – EximeeBPMS is an independent OpenSource product developed by Consdata, giving us much more say in its evolution.
• A solid foundation for further development of the Eximee Low Code platform.

From Consdata’s perspective, the successful implementation of EximeeBPMS confirmed that we chose the right path: carefully planned changes without disruptive overhauls that would require modifications in systems previously using Camunda 7 CE.

What does this mean for our clients?

We provide solutions to leading Polish banks, and systems based on Eximee are used daily by hundreds of thousands of their customers. Currently, all clients using Eximee Low Code Development Platform (including banks) are operating on the new EximeeBPMS engine.

Although the banks are now using a new tool, they have not experienced any disruption or change related to the switch and launch of the new engine. They have retained the existing functionality and performance while gaining stable, long-term support.

Summary

The successful transfer demonstrates that EximeeBPMS is a viable alternative to Camunda 7 CE, offering guaranteed compatibility, continuous development, and support. The tool is currently used by some of the largest banks and financial institutions in Poland.
