Having for years worked with Camunda 7, we know full well the advantages of this BPMS, including its flexibility, modeling simplicity, and stability. What we also know are its limitations, which we have learned to overcome with time.

Today, this work comes to fruition with EximeeBPMS—our response to the announced end of support for Camunda 7 Community Edition and to our customers’ actual needs.

It is our belief that not every change must be revolutionary. Based on our experience with Camunda and its clear and transparent development, we have created a BPM engine that allows organizations and teams to continue working in the environment with which they are familiar—making it an evolution without costly and risky migrations.

The first version of EximeeBPMS, compatible with Camunda 7.23 CE, is now available.

Legal compliance and open-source properties

The software was made open-source compliant through the following:

• Replacing proprietary libraries in the web application stack with fully open alternatives,
• Setting up new CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to ensure a fully transparent development process,
• Removing all references to Camunda trademarks.

Quality and security enhancements

As performance must go hand-in-hand with data security and integrity, a number of additional improvements were made to ensure the engine’s high quality and security, including:

• Expanding unit and integration tests to improve system reliability,
• Utilizing SonarQube for automated static analysis and maintainability checks,
• Monitoring and managing library dependencies to enhance security and stability.

Process improvements in future releases

Bearing in mind the ever-changing technological landscape, Consdata has a detailed plan in place delineating prospective developments to EximeeBPMS in order to ensure the most sustainable support models for the future.

In the coming months, we have planned to release consecutive versions of our BPM software, including one based on Camunda 7.24 CE. We are looking to make further improvements to the platform’s codebase, including a refined technology stack.
